In Focus Workshop: Slip Decoration
Half Day Workshop

This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience and limited to 8 students, aged 18+.

Coloured slips are an excellent way to bring a more detailed approach to surface decoration into your work, offering a wider range of colours and a variety of techniques will expand your approach to decoration and glazes.

In this half day workshop, demonstrations will be provided and hands on time for you to utilize these techniques on your test pieces. You will leave with a range of methods that you can use again in your future work such as stencilling, sgraffito, slip trailing and printing techniques.

Bring your own leather-hard pots to work on or use test tiles/extrusions provided.

Any clay pieces provided that you wish to use or take with you will be charged at the usual studio firing charges, £6.00 per kilo or for those who wish to take with them unfired pieces, £3.00 per kilo.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:

All of the tools, equipment, clay and pigment will be provided.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU:

Bring a small hand towel, apron and your own leather-hard pots to work on or use test tiles/extrusions provided.

Please ensure you can attend the workshop you have booked as we cannot offer refunds less than 14 days notice, unless we are able to fill your place with another student. Please get in touch and we will do our best.
